Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that a comprehensive security plan has been implemented for Muharram to monitor and prevent activities by miscreants and enhance surveillance. This announcement was made during his visit to the central Imambargah Asna Ashari in G-6 Islamabad, where he assessed the security and other arrangements in place.

According to Radio Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that security measures have been heightened to counter threats from adversaries. He disclosed that approval has been granted for the deployment of the Army in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and all provinces, following requests from these regions. The Army’s presence is intended to support the civil administration in maintaining order.

In addition to reviewing security arrangements, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi engaged with the administrators of the central Imambargah Asna Ashari to discuss the preparations for Muharram. The organizers expressed their satisfaction with the measures taken. The Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Police provided a briefing to the Federal Interior Minister on the security arrangements. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry accompanied Mohsin Naqvi during the visit.
