Archbishop Gallagher’s Historic Visit to Pakistan Commemorates Diplomatic Anniversary

Islamabad:Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, is set to embark on a three-day official visit to Pakistan starting Thursday. This visit comes at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

According to Radio Pakistan, this marks the first visit to Pakistan by a Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See. The visit is particularly significant as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the Holy See.

During his visit, Archbishop Gallagher will engage in discussions with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister on various topics, including interfaith harmony, dialogue, peace, and regional and international developments. He is also expected to meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Archbishop Gallagher will take the opportunity to interact with members of the Catholic community in Pakistan. This visit is seen as an important milestone in the enduring relations between Pakistan and the Holy See, highlighting their shared commitment to enhancing mutual understanding, cooperation, and trust while promoting interfaith harmony and peace.
