Islamabad:The National Assembly was informed today about the implementation of a comprehensive program aimed at the early diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis.

According to Radio Pakistan, Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services Nelson Azeem responded to a Calling Attention Notice by stating that teams are conducting door-to-door visits to identify tuberculosis patients and ensure their timely treatment.

He further explained that the treatment for tuberculosis is available at the basic health unit level. These efforts, he said, are contributing to a reduction in the number of tuberculosis cases and related deaths.

Additionally, the Petroleum Levy and Climate Support Levy Amendment Bill, 2026, and the Railway Board Bill, 2026, were presented before the House today. The House also adopted a resolution to extend the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority Amendment Ordinance, 2026, for an additional period of one hundred and twenty days, as moved by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary.

Furthermore, the House passed three bills today, which include the National College of Arts Institute Amendment Bill, 2025, the Centre for Clinical Psychology Centres Amendment Bill, 2026, and the Area Study Centres Amendment Bill, 2026.
