He served as an acting Judge at the Lahore High Court, an Advocate for the Government of Punjab, and a Judge of the Lahore High Court before ascending to the position of Chief Justice of Pakistan. Notably, on 15 August 1947, he administered the oath of office to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the first Governor-General of Pakistan, highlighting his pivotal role in the country's formative years.Mian Abdul Rashid passed away on this day in 1981, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to the judiciary in Pakistan.
