Jeddah: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will attend the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The session has been called to address the urgent situation in Palestine, particularly in light of the ongoing Israeli military actions and proposed plans for full military control over Gaza.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister is traveling to Jeddah directly from Dhaka, following a two-day visit to Bangladesh. The high-level meeting will gather foreign ministers and senior officials from member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss coordinated responses to the crisis in Palestine, focusing on the protection of Palestinian rights amid escalating tensions.

As a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause, Pakistan plans to use this forum to reaffirm its commitment to Palestine. The Deputy Prime Minister will advocate for Israel’s complete withdrawal from all Occupied Palestinian Territories and will reject any plans for extending Israeli military control over Gaza. He will emphasize the critical need for unhindered humanitarian assistance and call for the recognition of Palestinian rights, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

On the sidelines of the session, the Deputy Prime Minister is also expected to engage in bilateral discussions with counterparts from key OIC member states to further strengthen cooperative efforts on this issue.
