Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has emphasized the necessity of maintaining a simple and accessible registration process for the Prime Minister's Fuel Relief Scheme to ensure that the maximum number of beneficiaries can take advantage of the program.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar presided over a meeting focused on the administrative follow-up of the Prime Minister's Fuel Relief Scheme in Islamabad. During the meeting, he directed all relevant parties to ensure effective public outreach and smooth implementation at petrol stations. In line with the Prime Minister's instructions, he encouraged elected representatives to spread information about the scheme and assist with the registration process. Furthermore, he instructed that volunteers from the Prime Minister's Youth Programme be involved in public outreach and registration efforts.

The Deputy Prime Minister was informed that the scheme is already operational in Islamabad and is set to be launched nationwide across Pakistan at 11:59 p.m. tomorrow. Ishaq Dar also led the ninth meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy, where they reviewed the national rollout of the Prime Minister's Special Relief Scheme. Following the success of the pilot in Islamabad, the committee finalized the arrangements for the nationwide launch. The scheme is designed to provide relief for motorcycles, three-wheelers, and vehicles up to 800cc, including loaders and pick-ups, with the entire expense covered by the Federal Government.

Registration for the scheme is now open across the country via SMS to 9771, and fuel token redemption will begin at midnight between Wednesday and Thursday. Ishaq Dar instructed that payments to fuel stations be processed within 24 hours through the State Bank of Pakistan and urged provinces to complete outreach at the district level to ensure the seamless delivery of relief to the intended beneficiaries.
