Finance Minister Aurangzeb Advocates for Enhanced SME and Housing Financing

Islamabad:Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has highlighted the need to expand financing opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, agriculture, and housing sectors.

According to Radio Pakistan, during discussions with representatives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Aurangzeb stressed that improving access to long-term, affordable capital could unlock private investment, bolster business expansion, and enhance productive activities. He commended IFC's efforts in creating innovative financing solutions and attracting private capital to these critical sectors.

The IFC representatives updated the Finance Minister on their progress in establishing a fund for entrepreneurs, which is being developed in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to boost Pakistan's entrepreneurial and start-up ecosystem. They also discussed advancements in affordable housing initiatives, focusing on addressing supply-side constraints through potential developer finance models.
