Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is fully focused on reforming power sector to reduce electricity prices.He was addressing the newly appointed chairmen and members of the boards of electricity distribution companies in Islamabad today.The Prime Minister said new appointments in the electricity distribution companies are a first step towards reforms in the power sector.He said eradication of electricity pilferage, reduction in line losses, and improvement in the transmission system are priority areas of the government reform agenda.Highlighting the importance of governance in DISCOS, Shehbaz Sharif said the digitization of power distribution companies should be a priority.He said outsourcing and privatization of power distribution companies will be the next step after introducing reforms in them.Source: Radio Pakistan.net
