Kabul: The oppression, brutal violence, and continued arrests of journalists are ongoing under the Afghan Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Afghan Media Watchdog's 2025 report highlights two hundred and five incidents of media repression and freedom suppression under the Taliban regime.

Afghanistan International reports that under the Taliban regime, press freedom has been completely crushed, and journalists are living under oppression and fear. At least twenty television channels have been shut down in Afghanistan, and others face severe threats.
