Pakistan Supports UN’s Role to Address Global Challenges: DPM

New York: The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the United Nations’ central role in addressing global challenges. During a discussion with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York, he emphasized the need for a just resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with Security Council resolutions.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister condemned Israel’s actions against the Palestinian people and reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for a two-state solution. He also underscored the issue of cross-border terrorism originating from Afghanistan and urged the UN to assist in tackling terrorism within and from Afghanistan.

Secretary-General Guterres expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s active involvement at the United Nations. The Deputy Prime Minister is currently in New York to participate in the high-level meeting of the United Nations Security Council on ‘Practicing Multilateralism: Reforming and Improving Global Governance,’ organized by China.
