BAKU: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has announced that Pakistan is aiming to convert thirty percent of its vehicles to electric by the year 2030. This ambitious target was highlighted during his address at the session titled "Transport and Digital Middle Corridor and Beyond" at COP29 in Baku. The initiative forms a part of Pakistan's broader strategy to embrace sustainable transportation solutions and reduce the nation's carbon footprint.According to Radio Pakistan, Aleem Khan emphasized that significant steps are currently being undertaken to facilitate the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the country. The government is not only focusing on policy frameworks but is also committed to developing the necessary infrastructure to support this transition. This includes the installation of charging stations at strategic locations to ensure that EV users have convenient access to charging facilities.The initiative is seen as a crucial move towards modernizing Pakistan's transp ortation sector, aligning with global trends in sustainable energy usage.
