Davos: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced that Pakistan will return to the international capital markets this year. Addressing an event in Davos today, on the sidelines of the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, he emphasized the government's focus on issuing the inaugural Panda Bond for Pakistan. He highlighted that for the first time, Pakistan will tap into the Chinese capital market, which is the second largest in the world.According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister stated that Pakistan has consolidated its gains in macroeconomic stability and is moving in the right direction. He noted that the country received external validation as three global rating agencies upgraded its rating last year, maintaining a positive outlook for Pakistan. He attributed these achievements to the government's structural reforms.The Minister also mentioned that Pakistan's tax to GDP ratio has reached double digits. However, he emphasized the need for further efforts to ensure sustainabilit y in this area.
