Islamabad:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed authorities to develop a thorough plan for managing gas loads during the upcoming winter months and to take all necessary measures in advance.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting on winter energy planning, where he emphasized the importance of launching a public awareness campaign to implement the gas load management strategy effectively.
He highlighted the need for continuous gas imports, taking into account the current regional situation. The meeting revealed that domestic consumers would be prioritized for locally produced gas, while RLNG would be allocated primarily to power generation and industry sectors.
Plans include a public awareness initiative to encourage the use of alternative energy sources at the household level instead of locally supplied gas. Efforts are also underway to ensure the uninterrupted transmission of gas from reserves in the northern areas of the country.
A proposal to introduce bank financing options for electric appliances used in water and space heating is being considered as part of the strategy.
