Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the staff level agreement between Pakistan and the IMF.In a statement today, he thanked the IMF for supporting Pakistan in difficult times. He said new loan program will ensure economic stability.He said it is our commitment to take the country from stability to a strong and sustainable recovery.He said the time will come when Pakistan will be free from debt and will see economic prosperity.Shehbaz Sharif said difficult decisions were taken for the economic security and its fruits are coming in the form of economic stability.Shehbaz Sharif said measures will be taken to strengthen fiscal and monetary policy in addition to widening the tax base.The Prime Minister said government is advancing the agenda of economic reforms to strengthen the country's economic base and pave the way for sustainable development and prosperity.Referring to the increase in foreign exchange reserves over the last one year, he said we stabilized the exchange rate and took steps to achieve sustainable growth rate.He expressed confidence that the journey toward economic development will be achieved through our initiatives.Source: Radio Pakistan
