Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked websites that spread profane and obscene content. It has so far blocked over one hundred thousand blasphemous URLs and 844,008 obscene websites.

According to Radio Pakistan, the PTA’s efforts are part of a broader initiative to curb the availability of inappropriate content on the internet. The authority has been actively monitoring and taking down websites that violate the country’s regulations regarding acceptable online material.

The blocking of these websites reflects PTA’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful digital environment. It continues to employ advanced technologies and collaborates with other organizations to effectively identify and restrict access to harmful online content.

This move aligns with PTA’s mandate to regulate internet usage in Pakistan and ensure that digital platforms are not misused for spreading content that could be deemed offensive or harmful to the public.
