Prime Minister's Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam has called for taking measures to protect lives, properties and livelihoods of the people from ongoing heatwave and possible monsoon floods.Chairing a meeting on Global Warming and Heatwaves in Islamabad today, she emphasized that sufficient stocks of disaster relief items should be maintained.Romina Khurshid Alam said adverse socio-economic impacts of the disasters are unlikely to be overcome as long as the well-coordinated disaster risk mitigation or prevention measures are not taken jointly by all federal and provincial departments.Source: Radio Pakistan
