Royal Brunei Police Investigate Suspicious Death in Kampung Junjongan

Gadong: The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) announced that on May 15, 2026, Limau Manis Police Station received a report regarding the death of a male permanent resident in Kampung Junjongan. Following the report, RBPF officers and personnel from various units, including the Limau Manis Police Station, Special Investigation Unit, and Crime Scene Investigation Unit, were deployed to the scene to conduct an investigation. It was confirmed that the victim suffered suspicious injuries. The victim was subsequently taken to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Hospital for further examination and a post-mortem. This information was shared by the Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation Department during a press conference at the Royal Brunei Police Force Headquarters in Gadong.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Assistant Commissioner of Police Haji Azree bin Haji Abdul Manaf @ Munap stated that the investigation uncovered several clues, leading to the arrest of a 46-year-old local woman, who is believed to be involved in the incident. It was revealed that the suspect and the victim were married. A hammer, believed to be the weapon used, was found at the scene. The suspect was presented before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court, and a 12-day remand was granted for further investigation.

Authorities are seeking information on the whereabouts of an Indonesian individual, Bustari, aged 54. Individuals with information are urged to contact the Police Hotline 993 or any nearest police station to assist in the case. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code (Chapter 22), for the offence of Murder, which carries the death penalty.
