Barbados: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will lead Pakistan’s parliamentary delegation to the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Barbados, West Indies. The conference, scheduled from the 5th to the 12th of this month, gathers Speakers, parliamentarians, and representatives from member states worldwide.
According to Radio Pakistan, the event serves as a forum for dialogue on democracy, governance, public representation, and inter-parliamentary cooperation. Chairman Senate Gilani will engage in bilateral meetings with parliamentary leaders and lawmakers to discuss bilateral ties, parliamentary partnerships, people-to-people linkages, and regional collaboration.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is set to chair a session at the conference, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to peace, democratic institutions, and its parliamentary role in regional and global dialogue and cooperation. He will also address humanitarian and environmental issues from recent floods and rains in Pakistan, advocating for global climate justice and support for climate-vulnerable countries like Pakistan.
