Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated Saturday that Tehran has no intention of making concessions and emphasized the need to move beyond what he described as a no war, no peace situation.

According to Nam News Network, Pezeshkian highlighted that Iranian officials are engaged in almost daily discussions on how to transcend the current situation and reach an understanding that would preserve Iran's principles and values while deterring adversaries from contemplating another attack. He noted that war offered no solution, and the prolonged uncertainty regarding potential conflicts is taking an economic toll on the country.

Pezeshkian cautioned that attracting investment would remain challenging as long as the threat of renewed conflict persisted, emphasizing the importance of overcoming the situation through logic while maintaining Iran's strength. He also defended a recent memorandum with the United States, asserting that it contained no provisions amounting to capitulation or requiring Tehran to make concessions.

Iran and the US signed the memorandum of understanding in June, facilitated by Pakistani and Qatari mediation, to end hostilities that began in February and to pursue negotiations towards a final agreement. However, talks have stalled due to disputes over the implementation of the memorandum and arrangements for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil and gas exports.
