Info Minister inaugurates Cinema House in Islamabad

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb inaugurated a Cinema House at Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company in Islamabad today.

Talking to media after performing ground-breaking of the cinema, she said all efforts are being made to resolve financial issues of Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company.

She stressed the need to financially empower Radio Pakistan, Pakistan Television and Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company.

The Minister said that salary and pension issues of Radio Pakistan employees have been resolved.

She said steps are being taken to promote country’s culture and heritage and its narrative through screen tourism.

She further said that PTI’s government hatched a conspiracy to destroy these national institutions but present government is trying to make them financially viable.

Speaking about Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Amendment Bill 2023, Marriyum Aurangzeb said today the National Assembly passed Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Amendment Bill 2023 and Press Council of Pakistan Amendment Bill 2023.

Congratulating media houses, she said now it is responsibility of these houses to perform their responsibilities against misinformation and disinformation.

Marriyum Aurangzeb urged media houses to pay salaries to their employees according to the government rules.
