Pakistan and Belarus Strengthen Legal Ties with High-Level Meeting.

Islamabad: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Belarusian Minister of Justice Kovalenko Evgeny met with Pakistan’s Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar in Islamabad to discuss strategies for enhancing bilateral legal cooperation. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen their legal ties and explore new avenues for collaboration.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions were focused on key areas such as the digitalization of the legal system, capacity building for legal professionals, and enhancing legal education and awareness. Both leaders also deliberated on legislative drafting and international cooperation, as well as potential exchanges involving Bar councils and associates. Additionally, they explored the establishment of an International Mediation and Arbitration Center and a Case Assignment and Management System.

The meeting concluded with mutual invitations for official visits, as the Belarusian Minister extended an invitation to the Pakistani Federal Minis
ter for Law and Justice, which was warmly accepted. This exchange was seen as a gesture of goodwill and an opportunity to further cement the legal ties between the two nations.

Minister Tarar provided a detailed briefing on existing treaties and memorandums of understanding (MOUs), setting the stage for future collaborative efforts. Both ministers expressed keen interest in enhancing legal education and facilitating exchanges among Bar councils and legal associates.

The meeting ended on a high note with a unanimous vote of thanks from both parties. As a token of mutual respect and commitment, the ministers exchanged commemorative shields and memos, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter in Pakistan-Belarus relations. This meeting is expected to pave the way for a strengthened partnership with a shared vision for future cooperation.
