The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced an 18-member Test squad for the upcoming Australia tour with Shan Masood as the captain.
The matches are scheduled from 14th of next month to 7th January 2024.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore today, Chief Selector Wahab Riaz said that the squad was selected with a focus on the challenging Australian conditions.
He said we have considered the pitches and bolstered the pace bowling resources to provide flexibility in team combinations for all three Test matches.
He highlighted the inclusion of Saim Ayub in the squad due to his exceptional domestic season performance.
The Australia tour squad comprises Shan Masood (captain), Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk), Saud Shakeel, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
